Non soy protein powder is required for that the ingredients and sugar in most pre-made smoothies and protein shakes are too much. For homemade smoothies we can use fruits and vegetables, and we can add protein powder. Thus, we have to choose our protein sources carefully. Soy is a good source of protein but it has its concerns although. Because it contains phytoestrogens, so when you process soy into isolates or TVP, you are processing hormones, which may have dangerous health implications. Which is not existing when using pure soy.
